2009 was the third year that the Jinja International Youth Meeting has been held at Discovery Centre. In 2009, two similar conferences were held. The first was from Friday 23rd-Monday 26th October while the second was from Friday 30th October to Monday 2nd November. As in previous years the event was very successful.

A delegate giving their presentation After the presentations on a given topic there was a lively debate where the topic was explored further. The purpose of the meeting was to establish and develop links between the schools, as well as discuss issues that effect young people, both locally and also from a global perspective. Both these objectives were achieved. In addition to this a number of curriculum projects were set up to be conducted throughout the coming year.
