Barnaby Bear said to Rocket "Do you want to go on an adventure?" "Oh yes" replied Rocket excitedly.

"Where shall we go, what shall we do?" asked Barnaby. Rocket thought for a moment, "I don't really know, but I would like to go somewhere together, it will be better with you"

Barnaby didn't hear Rocket properly as he had just had a wash and still had some water in his ears. He thought Rocket had said " I would like to go somewhere beginning with the letter U."

Do you know anywhere beginning with the letter U?

Barnaby Bear and Rocket thought for a while and then Rocket said " I know a place that begins with U, it is the country of Uganda, let's go there". So they started to make plans.

"Where is Uganda?" thought Rocket. "Do you know Barnaby?" "I think it is in Africa, near a big lake where the river Nile starts." "I thought the river Nile was in Egypt" said Rocket. "Yes it is but it doesn't start there."

"How do we get to Uganda?" pondered Rocket. "On an aeroplane", said Barnaby "it is over 4000 miles away"

Barnaby and Rocket started their journey at Birmingham airport.

They travelled to Amsterdam in Holland and then got on another plane to Uganda.

On the plane they met a very kind air hostess who showed them around the plane.

She took them to the flight deck and they even tried the pilot's hat on, but it didn't fit very well!

However they were upgraded and sat in first class seats, which were very comfortable.

Before long they were flying over Switzerland. They looked out of the widow of the plane and saw the Alps, mountains that had snow on them.

They crossed the Mediterranean Sea over to Egypt, following the river Nile through Sudan and eventually reaching the airport at Entebbe in Uganda.

"Where shall we stay?" said Rocket. "Not sure" said Barnaby. "Let's look around". Before too long they found a hotel to stay in, and a man called Charles welcomed them in.

The beds were comfortable and before too long Barnaby and Rocket were asleep after their long trip to the country of Uganda in the continent of Africa.

The next morning Barnaby Bear and Rocket were ready for their first adventure in Uganda. The first place they went to, was the Source of the River Nile. This is the place where the River Nile leaves Lake Victoria on its way to the Mediterranean Sea. They met Melvin there, who also was visiting Uganda.
