Discovery Centre was recently very pleased to welcome a team of staff and parents from Woodnewton Learning Community, a large primary school from Corby UK. Head teacher Ellen Wallace had been to Discovery a year earlier and had been impressed on how Ugandan children are given responsibilities from quite an early age, something that could be learnt from. The team had quite a lot of interaction with pupils and staff at Mary Gasana's Joy Oasis Emmanuel Pre and Primary school. As well as this, most of the team went white water rafting on the Nile, visited the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, and an island fishing community, as well as starting a banana plantation at Discovery. A very full week!
